The following guidance will set out how people can see others safely: the evidence is clear that this is safest to do in the open air, at a safe distance, while minimising the frequency of social gatherings and the numbers present wherever possible.

Please read the following statement if you wish to hire any facilities at Somerford, it is vital that everyone adheres to the strict rules so that we can remain open.

BOOKING:

Call 01260299888 to book and PAY at the time of booking, payment will be taken over the phone, please have your card details to hand, if you need to come into the office please wear a mask.

Please do ensure you arrive on time to make a prompt start on the facility you have booked, if you are running late for whatever reason DO let us know and we can assess whether or not you can start late/move into the next slot. This way we can ensure there is no congestion on facilities.

FARM RIDE:

• Groups limited to 6 horses
• Only the riders to attend
• NO DOGS
• NO WALKERS
• For young unaccompanied riders, 1 responsible adult is permitted
• If you need to pass on the ride YOU MUST STOP and pull over to one side in SINGLE FILE and let the other riders pass on the furthest side of the track.
• We will be limiting numbers per hour

• No bikes, prams or any wheeled toy/item on the ride
• It is a continuous flowing ride- DO NOT re jump one fence multiple times – as this will cause blockages.

If you fall off– please call the office on 01260299888 and someone with PPE will come to you

IMPORTANT: please text 07984 384515 when you have started and finished your hire with the message “YOUR SURNAME- starting” and at the end “YOUR SURNAME- finished”

XC SCHOOLING:

Groups of no more than 6, (For lessons this means 5 plus instructor)

• If you are watching please DO NOT form a group of more than 6 and keep your distance from one another.
• We will be limiting numbers per hour on the XC so please be flexible with your ideal time.
• NO DOGS

• No bikes, prams or any wheeled toy/item on the XC 

FLATWORK ARENA:

Book and pay over the phone as normal- there will be protective gloves on the fencing near the entrance gate- please wear the gloves before you enter the arena and prior to touching any equipment (gates, cups, wings and poo picking kit) please use the bin provided at the end of your session to dispose of the gloves.

• If you wish to book a shared hire – the limit is 5 plus instructor (6 total)
• As usual, please leave arenas as you find them.

SJ ARENA:

TOILETS:

They will be cleaned 3 times a day, please ONLY use these facilities if absolutely necessary.

WASH OFF AREA:

This is a welfare wash off not a spa! Please no lengthy bathing of horses.

CAFÉ: Open for takeaway – opening hours may vary.
